Pierce and Garnett, two for 25,000

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett became the first pair of players who reached 25,000 career points in NBA history playing for the same team in the same season.
Paul Pierce became the 18th player to pass 25,000 points in the NBA all-time list. The forward is, along with Kevin Garnett (his current partner in Brooklyn and also a member of the 2008 champions Celtics team), Dirk Nowitzki and Kobe Bryant, as the only active players to reach that mark.

This happened last Saturday, April 11 game in which Nets lost 93-88 at home against Atlanta Hawks, where he got a discreet performance with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, and was pulling 1 out of 5 in 3-point shots when he dished his second -and his 25,001 point-, after which the stadium ovationed. "I try not to think about it," Pierce said. "Everybody's talking about it. My family's here, my friends that's all they're talking about, and I was the same way when I reached the 20,000-point mark. I remember I couldn't hit a shot in the first quarter because I was pressing just to get it. I'm just glad it's over with and I can just focus on the rest of the season.", said the shooter.

Pierce, who averages 13.5 points per night this season, his lowest in his long career, with 24,021 points is the second highest scorer in the Celtics history, ahead of Larry Bird (21,791) and behind the mythical John Havlicek (26,395).

Garnett meanwhile is on the highlights, what it happened a few days earlier: he surpassed Alex English as the 15th all-time leading scorer. KG, despite its very marginal role (his 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds are his lowest numbers of a legendary career), achieved the mark in the last April 5 game (105-101 road win against Philadelphia), with a contribution of 10 points and 4 rebounds in roughly 13 minutes, for a total of 25,626.
