NBA, with a good taste in mouth

With another exciting NBA regular season already finished, it left us marks which rewrote the record books.

Surely the most important thing was that achieved by the German Dirk Nowitzki. The Dallas Mavericks star finish this exercise with 26,786 points, that places him in tenth place among the top scorers in the undoubtedly best basketball league in the world. He's also the first European player to get such a privileged place in the great history of the American League . If remaining fit, he could end up in 7th place, and being the all-time topscorer among those non-born in United States.

Moreover, Kevin Garnett managed to enter the top ten in total rebounds with 14,201, being the 2nd player, behind the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to exceed 25,000 points, 14,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists and 2,000 blocks. KG, despite having played his worst season ever (merely 6,5 points and 6,5 rebounds) is still Top 15 all-time in both parameters and with 48,910 minutes entered fifth in the league's history. Huge accomplishments that not only confirm the high quality of former NBA champion with Boston in 2008, but one of the most complete players of all time.

The terrible season Los Angeles Lakers played, only served to Steve Nash to enter the all-time assists podium. The 40-year-old point-guard has had an irregular season with injuries that only allowed him to play 15 games in which he dished 86 assists, very little for what we have used with the Canadian genius, but enough to pass Mark Jackson and settle in third place among the assists leaders in NBA history with 10,335.

Today we can enjoy big stars that eventually become true legends and be in the top positions in various statistical areas. Kevin Durant has ended this season very close to 15,000 points, Serge Ibaka just 3 blocks away from 1,000 and "Superman" Dwight Howard will be the youngest player to catch 10,000 rebounds, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain for only seven days (although Wilt needed almost 400 games less). The current Rockets center surely become top five in rebounds and blocks at the end of his career, if he remains in shape.
