Ender Arslan re-signs with Galatasaray

Galatasaray reached a new agreement with veteran playmaker Ender Arslan to keep working together for one more season, the club announced Tuesday. There is an option to extend the deal until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Arslan (1.90 meters, 31 years old) averaged 6.9 points and 1.9 assists in 25 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games with Galatasaray last season, helping it reach the playoffs for the first time in club history. This will be his fourth season with Galatasaray. He joined the club from Istanbul rival Efes Pilsen, for whom he played for nine years in two stints. Arslan grew up with Efes and made his senior debut with the team during the 2000-01 season. He played at Efes for six consecutive seasons, helping the team win Turkish League titles every season from 2002 to 2005.

He split time in the 2006-07 season spending time with Union Olimpija in Slovenia, Tau Ceramica in Spain and Panionios in Greece. After that he returned to Efes for three more years. In all, Arslan has won five Turkish League championships and five Turkish Cups. Arslan has also been a regular member of the Turkish national team, with whom he appeared at four European Championship tournaments and won the silver medal at the 2010 FIBA World Championships. Arslan ranks 17th in Euroleague games played, 199, in which he has accumulated 1,098 points and 383 assists.
