Australia, doing their job

With the nickname as best Oceanic squad, and after winning the qualifying championship in that continent, Australia will face with all the hope and faith of World Cup Spain 2014. And they will, after extensive preparation of almost a month.

Such prior began on July 23 at the National Center of Excellence in Basketball Canberra until July 29. After that, they left for Europe (three weeks before the official start of the competition) and they are making the most important and exhausting part, both physically and technically.

They will play in Group D with Slovenia, South Korea, Lithuania, Mexico and Angola. A tough group indeed, as Gran Canaria could be, with the Arena as the ideal scenario. In turn, Australian squad is right now ninth in the FIBA ranking.

The bad news of the team led by Andrej Lemanis rely in their figure, Patrick Mills, a true NBA champio with the Spurs last season, who suffered an injury in the rotator cuff and should stand out for seven months.

However, his teammates do not have to worry and they are forced to impersonate his absence in order not to affect them negatively. Highlighted variants of the final list are Aron Baynes, Matthew Dellavedova, Ben Simmons and Brad Newley.
