Slovenia wants revenge

Slovenian national team is fully committed to achieve a good role in this World Cup 2014. They assure their plane tickets without any problems, thanks to the fifth position achieved in last year’s Eurobasket, where they were host nation.

With the legendary Jure Zdovc as head coach, the Slavic squad is number thirteen in the FIBA ranking team and they are considered second-order important. Their mission is to qualify to the second round and aspire to challenge the candidates inch by inch On the other hand, they will share the Group D with Australia, Mexico, South Korea, Lithuania and Angola. The headquarters is in Gran Canaria and the stadium, the Arena.

About the roster, the head coach has already defined the list of twelve members who will represent the country. The glittering figures are Edo Muric (Krka), Zoran Dragic (Unicaja Malaga), his brother Goran Dragic (Phoenix Suns), Jaka Blazic (Krka) and Erazem Lorbek (Barcelona).

The case of the last player mentioned above endured surgery on his right knee about a year ago by a serious injury. Another is already one hundred percent physically. The other negative is the official retirement from the national team of the now former captain Jaka Lakovic.

After they have disputed the Stankovic Cup in China from July 31 to August 4, they will face both tournaments in Kaunas (against Lithuania, Great Gritain and Greece) and, from August 21 to 23, at home in Ljubljana (Iran, Brasil and rematch against Lithuanians), closing their preparation on August 26 in Gran Canaria against the Americans.
