As tall as blacks

Without pressure from other teams, New Zealand does not want to be outdone by anyone and must defend his privileged position obtained in Oceania qualifying tournament, where they finished second. The champion was their archrivals Australia.

The Tall Blacks will share the C group Dominican Republic, United States, Turkey, Ukraine and Finland. The Bilbao will host it and the stadium, the Bizkaia Arena.

Without their twelve members defined yet, and missing some names to discard of it, one of the questions that coach Nenad Vucinic holds is veteran Alex Pledger, with a foot injury which will require six weeks of recovery.

The New Zealand squad are currently 19 in the FIBA ranking and figures such as brothers Corey and Tai Webster, Rob Loe, Mika Vukona and Jarrod Kenny.

Finally, New Zealand want to get as far as possible in the international competition to become the first team to do ocean and cut American and European supremacy.
