Hunger of glory from the Balkans

Without history as the current country, Serbia will participate for the second consecutive time at a World Cup after its debut four years ago in Turkey. The renewed Yugoslavia, as it has players from that country is currently eleventh in the FIBA world ranking.

Group A will share with Egypt, France, Brazil, Spain and Iran. The seat is Granada and the stadium is the Palacio Municipal de Deportes. A tough zone indeed, with three surely candidates to get a spot, so the Slavic squad will try to be the fourth team to advance to the second round.

Important to note is that since 2007 competing as Serbia they got as their best performance a silver medal in the Eurobasket 2009 held in Poland. For this event, they came seventh.

With Sasha Djordjevic as head coach, Europeans have names like Luka Mitrovic, Stefan Markovic, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Marko Simonovic. Nemanja Nedovic not be in the game due to a sprained foot suffered in a friendly against Bosnia, who won it. In preparation further includes a win against Canada, pending a final match with Italy in Trieste.

In conclusion, the tricolor nation must draw firm accounts and leverage their strengths to the details with the weakest noticeable for good. And, also, that the strongest not take him over.
