Shawn Redhage reaches 300 NBL games

On Friday October 17, Shawn Redhage reached 300 career games in the Australian NBL. The power forward originally from Jacksonville, Florida, naturalized Australian, became the 93rd player to reach that number, and within that list is by Peter Crawford, Matthew Burston, Adam Ballinger, Daryl Corletto and Mika Vukona the only still active.

The player known as "The Scoring Machine" originally came to Australia to play in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) for NW Tasmanian Thunder, with whom he won the championship and was named MVP of the league in 2004.

Then he began his career in the NBL with the New Zealand Breakers in 2004, but was fired after only 13 games. He returned to the SEABL to play for Bendigo, where he was a more dominant and again he won Most Valuable Player of the league, before being offered a contract with Perth Wildcats in 2005. Since then it stays true to those colors, and, next to Ricky Grace and Tony Ronaldson, he is one of the legends of Western Australia team.

In its eleventh season (the tenth with the Wildcats) Redhage totaled 5,222 points (17.4 average), 1,906 rebounds (6.3), 1.924 field goal with 50% efficiency, 267 triples (0.8, 37%), 871 assists (2.9), 232 steals (0.8) and 172 blocks (0.6).

It also has five years experience in Puerto Rico, most recently in Arecibo Captains. In five years at the BSN, Redhage totaled 1,697 points (16.5), 680 rebounds (6.6), 630 field goals (47% effective), 144 triples (1,4, 43%) and 317 assists (3.1).
