No more Okur

Mehmet Okur announced his retirement after 10 seasons. The Turkish power-forward couldn't overcome a serious back injury who affected him in the last years. Okur retired at 33 years old with a total of 8,561 points (13.5 ppg), 4,436 rebounds (7 rpg) and 596 3-pointers (0.9 per game with .375 pct) in 634 games over 10 NBA seasons. He was part of the Detroit Pistons squad who proclaimed NBA Champions in 2004. Also, he got silver medal in the 2001 Eurobasket Championship in Istanbul playing for the Turkish national team.

The most part of his career played in the Utah Jazz. Under the coaching of Jerry Sloan, Okur became a key player within the team, and his performance was enough to be elected to play the 2006-2007 All-Star game. Okur concluded his carrer with the Jazz as the 4th team all-time in 3-point shots made (517), 5th in 3-point attempts (1,358) and ninth in points (7,255), rebounds (3,599) and blocks (346).
