15,000 times Pau

In the night of November 18-19 against Houston Rockets, Pau Gasol surpassed the 15,000 point-mark in the NBA. The Catalan player, number 3 in the 2001 NBA Draft, is one of the most regular internal players about statistical production (always in a range of 17 to 20 points per game and between 7 and 11 average rebounds).

Pau is very close to pass Scottie Pippen (73º) in the all-time rebound list. The power forward has now 7,429, while the six-time NBA Champion with the Chicago Bulls retired with 7,494. In blocks, he's 41º with 1,345 and he has at a glance Samuel Dalembert (40º with 1,367) and his own Lakers teammate Dwight Howard (39º, with 1,371).

Although he's a good passer for being an internal player (2,612 career assists, 3.2 per game), one of the few weak points Gasol has as a player is not to be a good stealer (442, 0.6 avg). His very slim contexture, combined with his height (7'1'', 2.14m) makes him lack of a good lateral movement, and his assist per steal ratio (5.9) also is an indicator to not have a good defensive balance.

Gasol is the 17º NBA player with at least 15,000 points, 7,000 rebounds, 2,000 assists and 1,000 blocked shots. Also he's the 10º player non born in the U.S. to surpass 15,000 in the NBA's regular season.
