Tapiro makes record

The player from Nes Ziona reached an all-time record for games played in Israel with 470.
In the last game on Sunday 22 March in which Nes Ziona lost 89-88 against Bnei Herzliya, Meir Tapiro became the player with the most regular season games in the history of Israeli Ligat Ha'Al with 470.

Tapiro, who turns 40 on Saturday 28, playing his 20th year in the league and 21 since he turned professional (the only exception, Nancy, in France ProA, in 2004-05). In his first season (with Hapoel Tel-Aviv, 1994-95), coincided with veteran Mickey Berkowitz, a legend of Israeli basketball, who at the end of that campaign would retire after 23 seasons in active, and a record of 469 games that lasted until Sunday 22.
