Tim Duncan, 8th in rebounds

In the unexpected loss of San Antonio Spurs against the New York Knicks (100-104) last March 17, Tim Duncan continues making history in the NBA.

With 8 rebounds, Duncan moved up to 8th place all-time (the best among active players) accumulating a total of 14,519, and thus overcome Kevin Garnett, Minnesota Timberwolves currently in, with a total of 14,512.

In a career filled with accomplishments in which he has achieved five NBA Championship rings, 2 season MVP and 3 Finals MVP awards, the Virgin-Islands born is still in shape despite having 38 years.

With this are already active in 18 seasons in which he averaged 19.6 points, 11 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 blocks in a total of 1,315 regular season games.

As a mere comment, also in blocks there was a record. Two weeks earlier, on the home win last March 6 against Denver 120-111, center Patrick Ewing moved to sixth place in the all-time block shot list. Right now he has 2,915 (per 2,894 of the historic player of the Knicks), and also he can surpass David Robinson (another Spurs icon and his teammate in the 1999 lockout title), but it will be very difficult to achieve before the end of the regular season.
