Nowitzki grabs 10,000 rebounds

The season is still to overcome all-time records for Dirk Nowitzki. The German player totaled 10,000 rebounds over his career during the last game the Mavericks beat San Antonio Spurs 101-94 on 24 March. Nowitzki finished the night with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Nowitzki is the seventh player in NBA history that can boast of having achieved at least 27,000 points and 10,000 rebounds. Previously Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Elvin Hayes, Karl Malone and Shaquille O'Neal was in the club.

"It's unbelievable," Nowitzki said. "I came to be probably the worst 7-feet rebounder in the league at that time", he added.

The Mavericks power forward referred to his first season in the competition, when he averaged 3.4 and 6.5 rebounds in his first two years.

A unique player thanks to the three-pointers

His versatility has allowed him to achieve things that no other man had done so far.

The NBA wanted to emphasize that, in that game, Nowitzki became the first player in history to achieve at least 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 1.000 triples, 1.000 steals and 1.000 blocked shots.
